100 Legendary Knives

100 Legendary Knives

I picked this up out of the bargain rack at Barnes & Noble. It is a nice big book with large quality pictures of a very wide variety of knives. It does not go into depth on anything but it is a nice survey. I recommend it to anyone that wants to look at a wide swath of different knives. Anything more than that you’ll want to seek elsewhere.

The Handplane Book

The Handplane Book

This is a very good book on planes. Lots of pictures, good explanation of what all the parts do, makes me want more planes!

Les Miserables

Les Misérables (Signet Classics) I started this one in the fall of 2006. I’m reading the Signet Classics unabridged translation by Lee Fahnestock and Norman MacAfee, reissued in 1987. According to amazon reviews this is the best translation (as in most like the original).
My favorite high school teacher was a big fan, and I know the storyline from the Liam Neeson movie. Needless to say it’s a very good story.
