Wrist pain on the bike

Since I've started riding again in the last year so I have pain in both wrists. It's just with straight handlebars. I have bar ends on my old mountain bike that let me turn my wrists. I will either move them to the new bike, or get a different bar.

I rode for a few miles on and off road with wrist braces, and that helped a great deal. Maybe it's my wrist position.

Drop bars do not hurt, but I don't really want drop bars on the hybrid bike and I don't want the complications of changing shifters and brakes. I'm looking at ergo grips, bar ends, or just a different bar - either a bullhorn or a butterfly/trekking/safari bar.

Nashbar has what they call a "Trekking ATB/Hybrid Handlebar" that looks good, also the Ergon GP1 and GC2 grips.
