I made some hot chocolate tonight, with mini marshmallows. But they're hard to toast. You can toast regular marshmallows in a toaster over pretty well, but after you scrape them off the foil or pan there is not a lot left of a mini marshmallow. So that's why I have a heat gun. I have a Wagner multi-speed heat gun that I picked up on the clearance isle at Wal-Mart, I think it was around $20. It shrinks heat shrink tubing, it takes off paint, and it does a fine job of puffing and browning mini marshmallows floating in a cup of hot chocolate. I set the fan to low and the temp to 1250F, takes about 20 seconds.
